Abstract

There are naturally salt problems in arid and semi-arid regions because of insufficient precipitation or highly unbalanced precipitation in those of the areas. It is also known that excessive and unconscious irrigation cause salt problems in cultivation areas. In this study, the effects of different salts and their doses on some soil properties, growth of com and bean, and mineral contents of the plants were investigated. According to the research results, pH value, electrical conductivity and % salt values of the soil increased. Plant development decreased depend on different salt levels and kinds, and dry matter and N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu of the plants generally decreased. Sulfate salts importantly affected on plant development and mineral contents when compared to chlor salts
