Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate plant shoot and root dry matter yield and mineral content of Kaya F1 tomato cultivar when seedlings were transferred in to nutrition solution of increasing NaCl content (EI0=1,34, EI1=3, EI2=7, EI3=14 dS/m at three growth stages. Seedlings from this cultivar (Kaya F1) were transferred in to Arnon (1938) nutrition solution. After different NaCl concentrations were added (EI0=1,34, EI1=3, EI2=7, EI3=14 dS/m) in different growth stages (1. Immediately after germination, 2. Three weeks after germination, 3. Six weeks after germination). Tomato plants were harvested just before flowering for dry weight measurement and analysis for mineral contents growth that occurred at the first growth stage in the cultivar. Dry matter decreased as NaCl concentration at solution increased, but Na and Cl content increased in contrast to K and NO3 contents in all applications.
