Abstract

The aim of the study was to compare the viscosity properties of two oral moisturising gels. The viscosity measurements of the gels were performed with Brookfield digital viscosimeter (Model DV-III) at room temperature and at 37ºC to mimic the body temperature. The viscosities of natural saliva collected from 5 healthy people and the two oral moisturising gels were measured under the same conditions. Ten different measurements were made from each formulation to determine the mean viscosity values. Measurements obtained at the room temperature showed that both formulations have similar viscosity values. However, measurements made at 37ºC showed that Bioxtra® has the lowest viscosity value (p
