Abstract

It has been one of the issues on the agenda in the academics that climate affects the architectural design process. The decision taken in the direction of the buildings during the design process is also known as a part of this interaction. Since the orientation of the buildings directly affects the amount of energy used in the buildings, this article has tried to examine the orientation of the traditional houses of the city of Tabriz and to understand the interaction of the orientation of the houses with the climate in which they are located. With the research, 10 traditional houses that entered the literature have been examined and in line with the data obtained, the effect of the climate on the building orientation and energy consumption in the traditional Tabriz house has been emphasized and the amount of energy consumption has been analyzed in different aspects by taking a building as an example.
