Abstract
Miniplate osteosynthesis have been increasingly and frequently used in the treatment of maxillofacial fractures. It shows so many advantages over other techniques. In this study the treatment results and complications of 27 maxillofacial fracture cases which wetreated with miniplate fixation and managed to follow for 1-5 years are evaluated. Postoperative clinical and radiographical examination of patients did not reveal complications such as; infection, malocclusion, paraestesia, malunion or nonunion. Miniplates were well tolerated and not removed in all patients but three in which the plates gave clinical reactions.
