Abstract

Ceramics are widely used at posterior tooth restorations because of their high biocompability, enamel like physical and anatomic properties; and also natural translucency properties. Rut recently, as they need high technical instruments and special repair procedures, have low fatigue resistance and high costs; hybrid and condensation composites are preferred. The composite type inlays need simple and fast technique; can be used directly or indirectly; have porcelaine like wear resistance and good esthetics. In this study, 21 newly extracted molar teeth were used. 7 samples were prepared for each material. The microleakage of posterior inlay hybrid (3M/Valux Plus) and condensation Dentsply/Surefill composite restorations were compared with ceramic inlay restorations and their clinical indications were also evaluated. As a conclusion, it was observed that composite inlay is an good alternative to ceramic inlay for the posterior teeth restorations.
