Abstract

The etiologies of approximately half of the male factor relatedinfertility is still unclear. In addition to the modern medicinetreatments, complementary medicine options are preferred frequentlyin the treatment of idiopathic infertility. With the increasing use ofcomplementary medicine in modern medicine, these herbal agents arefrequently preferred by patients. Anti-oxidant and phytotherapeuticagents can be recommended to subfertile men as a part of assistedreproductive methods although there is not enough evidence about livebirth and pregnant rates. Further studies are needed to demonstrate theefficacy of complementary medicine agents in the treatment of maleinfertility.

Özet

Erkek faktörüne bağlı infertilitelerin yaklaşık yarısının etiyolojisi halatam olarak aydınlatılamamıştır. İdiyopatik infertilitenin tedavisinde mo dern tıbbın tedavilerine ek olarak tamamlayıcı tıp seçenekleri de artıkgünümüzde oldukça sık tercih edilmektedir. Tamamlayıcı tıbbın son za manlarda modern tıp alanında kullanımının artmasıyla bitkisel kökenlibu ajanlar, hastalar tarafından da sıkça tercih edilmektedir. Tamamlayıcıtıp tedavilerinde gebelik ve canlı doğum oranlarıyla ilgili henüz yeter li kanıt olmamasına rağmen yardımcı üreme yöntemlerinin bir parçasıolarak subfertil erkeklere etkinliği kanıtlanmış antioksidanlar ve fito terapötik ajanlar önerebilir. Erkek infertiltesi tedavisinde tamamlayıcıtıp ajanlarının etkinliğinin güçlü olarak gösterilebilmesi için ileri düzeyçalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.
