Abstract

Arteriovenous (AV) fistulas have become the most common way of vascular access for hemodialysis in hemodialysis patients. While AV fistulas are primarily created in the upper limbs in these patients, alternative locations of AV fistulas are looked for in cases where AV fistulas can not be created in the upper limbs. We created AV fistulas between tibialis anterior artery and saphenous vein in three of our five cases and saphenofemoral loop fistulas in the other two cases. The results of these two alternative methods were evaluated together with literature review.

Özet

Arteriyovenöz (AV) fistül uygulamaları hemodiyaliz hastalarında hemodiyaliz için en yaygın vasküler giriş yolu haline gelmiştir. Bu hastalarda öncelikli olarak üst ekstremitede AV fistül oluşturulsa da üst ekstremitede AV fistül oluşturulamayan hastalarda alternatif AV fistül yerleri aranmaktadır. Beş olgumuzun üçüne tibialis anterior arteri ile safen ven arasında AV fistül oluşturulurken, diğer ikisine safenofemoral loop fistül oluşturuldu. Bu iki alternatif yöntemin sonuçları literatür eşliğinde irdelendi.
