Abstract

Pneumomediastinum is a rare clinical entity characterized bytrapping of air in mediastinum. Conservative management issufficient in majority of patients with pneumomediastinum.Herein we report two rare cases of pneumomediastinumthat occurred after dental and aesthetic surgery. Sinceclinical courses of the two cases were divergent, onewas treated conservatively while the other was treatedsurgically. Complete resorption of pneumomediastinumwas detected during follow-up of both cases.

Özet

Pnömomediasten havanın mediastende hapsolmasıile karakterize, nadir görülen klinik bir tablodur.Pnömomediastenli hastaların büyük kısmında konservatiftedavi yeterlidir. Bu yazıda dental ve estetik cerrahisonrasında nadir olarak gelişen iki pnömomediasten olgusubildirildi. İki olgunun klinik seyirleri farklı olduğundanbiri konservatif diğeri cerrahi şekilde tedavi edildi. Her ikiolgunun takibinde pnömomediastenin tam rezorbsiyonusaptandı.
