Abstract

Objective: To evalvate the comparison of intra¬muscular propesterone in oil, vaginal micronize capsule and Vaginal, gel progesterone on pregnaniy rate in patients undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Institution: Zeynep Kamil Women' and Children Education, Training Hospital Reproductive Endocrinology and IVF Unit Materials and methods: The study population consisted of women who had undergone IVF using long or short protocol stimulation with GnRH analog-gonadotrophin. Standard intracytoplasmic sperm injection and embryo transfer procedures were performed. 141 patients received intramuscular progesterone in oil ( 50 mg once daily), 87 patients received intravaginally micronized progesterone capsule ( 600 mg /day) and, 39 patients received progesterone gel (90 mg/day) beginning on the day before oocyte retrieval and continued for a minimum of 12-14 days. Pregnancy, embryo implantation and miscarriage rates were compared between groups. Results: The pregnancy rates per transferred embryo were 29.8%, 32.2% and 33.3% for the intramuscular, vaginal capsule and vaginal gel groups, respectively. The implantation rates per embryo transferred were 0. 43 ± 0.27, 0. 43± 0.24, 0.51+0.26 for the intramuscular, vaginal capsule and vaginal gel groups, respectively. The biochemical, clinical pregnancy, implantation and abortion rates were similar between groups. Conclusion: Vaginal micronized progesterone capsule and vaginal gel appear to be as effective as daily intramuscular progesterone at providing luteal support, thus rendering painful injections.

Özet

Amaç: In vitro fertilizasyon hastalarında intramusküler, vajinal mikronize kapsül ve vajinal jel progesteron formlarının gebelik oranları üzerindeki etkilerini karşılaştırmak. Standart intrasitoplazmik sperm enjeksiyonu uygulanarak embryo transferi yapıldı.
