Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to develop a measurement tool that can evaluate the school as a whole. Research data were collected from two different groups, and in the first stage, descriptive, confirmatory factor analyzes, reliability analysis and correlation analysis were performed with the data collected from 394 administrators and teachers. In the second stage, it was aimed to verify the scale by repeating confirmatory factor analyzes with the data collected from 1390 administrators and teachers. Expert opinion was sought to ensure the content validity of the item pool created by examining the national and international literature. In accordance with the opinions of the experts, a trial form consisting of 128 items was obtained. Data were collected from the participants through the trial form obtained, and the "school evaluation scale" was obtained as a result of the analysis. The "School Evaluation Scale" consists of 30 items and 4 sub-dimensions. These sub-dimensions are called “effectiveness of leadership and management”, “teaching, learning and evaluation quality”, “student competencies” and “physical competences of the school”. In order to ensure the reliability of the scale, in addition to Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient, the two-half test reliability of the scale was calculated with Spearman Brown and Gutmann Split-Half techniques. In addition, item-total correlations of the scale were also examined. As a result of the analysis, the total Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale studied was found as .96. As a result, it was concluded that the scale is valid and reliable.
