Abstract

We present the case of a 32 year old man suffering from acalculous cholecystitis due to polyarteritis nodosa. He was admitted to hospital with right upper abdominal pain and high fever. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed acalculous cholecystitis, and cholecystectomy and appendectomy were performed. Pathologic examination of both appendix and gallbladder showed involvement of medium size arteries due to polyarteritis nodosa. Surgeons should be aware of this rare cause of acute acalculous cholecystitis.

Özet

Bu makalede, poliarteritis nodozaya bağlı olarak gelişen akalküloz kolesistitli 32 yaşında bir erkek hasta bildirilmiştir. Hasta, sağ üst kadran ağrısı nedeniyle hastaneye başvurmuştu. Yapılan abdominal ultrasonografisinde akalküloz kolesistit .tespit edildi. Hastaya kolesistektomi ve appendektomi uygulandı. Safra kesesi ve appendiksin patolojik incelemesinde orta büyüklükte arterlerde poliarteritis nodozaya bağlı tutulum, tespit edildi. Akalküloz kolesistit poliarteritis nodozaya bağlı olarak nadiren gelişmektedir ve her genel cerrah bu çok nadir durumu aklında bulundurmalıdır.
