Abstract

Crossed aphasia is an aphasic syndrome secondary to the non dominant hemispheric lesions. in this case report, a 70 year old patient presenting with crossed aphasia without any hemiparesis is documented. The patient had a total occlusion of the right internal carotid artery revealed by Doppler ultrasound. The MRI revealed right temporal lobe infarct. The rest of the right middle cerebral artery territory was receiving the blood supply from the contralateral hemispheric circulation. in the follow-up, the global aphasia of the patient gradually changed to sensory aphasia in the end of the second week.
