Abstract

Objective: We aimed to present a case of incisional endometriosis after cesarean section institution: Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, 3rd. Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinics Case: Endometriosis is the presence of endometrial tissue that is found elsewhere than uterus. Ectopic endomelrial tissue which responds to hormonal stimulation is found in 8 to 15 percent of all menstruating women. It's rare in abdominal wall and usually secondary to an invasive procedure; although it has been described after hysterectomy or laparotomy, it is most frequently seen after cesarean section. In this case, a 26 years old woman with endometriosis involving the recius abdominis muscle after ceserean section was presented. Conclusions: When an incisional mass has been seen at a woman who had pelvic surgery, especially ceserean section, incisional endometriosis should be reminded and patient's history should be taken accordingly.
