Abstract

Objective: To report a case of parasitic ovarian mucinous cystadenoma of the omentum. Institution: Ministry of Hearth, Ankara Etlik Maternity and Women's Health Teaching and Research Hospital, Turkey. Case Report: 18-year-old female admitted to our clinic with abdominal pain for 8 months. Her gynecological examination revealed an abdominal mass that extended 2 cm above the umbilicus. Ultrasonographic examination revealed the tumor which was located adjacent to the right adnexa. The cystic tumor which was implanted to the omentum totally removed with laparotomy. The histopathological examination revealed mucinous cystadenoma. The patient was discharged on postoperative day 4. Conclusion: When unilateral adnex was seen as autoamputated and concomittantly an omental cyst was observed during operation, it must be in mind that it can be a parasitic mucinous cyst and be careful during surgical exploration.

Özet

Amaç: Omental parazitik musinoz kistadenom saptanan bir olgunun tartışılması. Çalışmanın Yapıldığı Yer: TCSB Ankara Etlik Doğumevi ve Kadın Hastalıkları Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi. Materyal ve Metod: 8 ay önce başlayan karın ağrısı şikayeti ile polikliniğe başvuran 18 yaşında bekar hastanın yapılan jinekolojik muayenesinde göbeğin 2 cm. üzerine kadar uzanan abdominal kitle palpe edildi. Yapılan ultrasonografide, sağ adneksiyel bölgede kistik kitle izlendi. Hasta adneksiyel kitle ön tanısı ile laparatomiye alındı. Omentuma implante olmuş kistik kitle aspire edilerek total olarak çıkarıldı. Yapılan histopatolojik inceleme sonucu müsinöz kistadenom ile uyumlu geldi. Hasta postoperatif 4. günde taburcu edildi. Sonuçlar:Tek adneksin otoamputasyonu ve omentumda kist izlendiğinde bunun bir parazitik müsinöz kist olabileceği düşünülmeli ve cerrahi eksplorasyon esnasIında dikkatli olunmalıdır.
