Our current understanding of human biology indicates that abstraction is the highest level of thinking evolved in our species. This innate talent is most utilized in science and arts. Advances in science and technology can lead to innovations and advancements in arts, and vice versa. Additionally, if one examines developed societies, one will notice that the concept of development covers science, technology and arts as a whole. Within this context, we will examine the Body Worlds Exhibition as a contemporary and in some respects controversial union of science and art. We will first define anatomy as a branch of science, and give its history, then the story of its evolution will be told. Such an introduction is necessary since the development of anatomy as a science is also the history of scientific thinking, enlightenment against dogmas, and the development of art and technology. The focus of article is how the Body Worlds Exhibition turns an innovation in sciences, particularly anatomy, into an exhibitable art event. This study, in which the scientific content of the exhibition is associated with the Bioart movement, also aims to make a unique contribution to the field by showing that anatomy throughout its history has been influenced by arts and technology. Another contribution to the field will be through the comparative approach of the examination of the anatomy of humans and other organisms in terms of technical and ethical values. Thus, a novel perspective on Body Worlds Exhibition as the embodyment of the intersection of science, technology and arts will be shared.
