Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to screen the chromosome 7D with SSR markers and to identify unique markers surrounding the Russian wheat aphid resistance gene Dn100695. Material and methods: The F2 population consisting of 190 individuals of the Basribey x IG 100695 cross was used for mapping. The mapping population was screened with 20 SSR markers located on the 7D chromosome in addition to the previous markers. Chlorosis, rolling and aphid density characteristics of the pest in the population were considered as phenotypic data. Results and conclusion: As a result of the study, 46 of the 85 polymorphic markers mapped a genome region of 1226.9 cM in total and formed 14 different linkage groups. A unique SSR marker (GWM121) flanking the resistance gene was identified on the 7D chromosome, and markers flanking the Dn100695 gene from both directions were mapped. Additionally, as a result of the marker regression analysis, SSR markers that have the potential to contribute to Russian wheat aphid resistance were determined.
