Abstract

Pigmented villonodular synovitis ( PVNS ) is a benign, proliferative disease of the synovial membrane of joints, tendon sheaths, and bursas. It is almost always monoarticular and the knee is the most commonly affected joint. In our case report, we have presented an extensive PVNS of the right knee joint in a 53 year old male patient and discussed clinical appearance, pathology, treatment and the value of the magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of this pathologic condition.
