Abstract

Fitz Hugh Curtis syndrome is described as the ascending infiltraiton of the pelvic infection affecting liver and diaphragm usually involving salpengitis. The incidence of FHC may vary according to criteria used in diagnosis. Perihepatic adhesions may be observed during laparoscopy in patients without any symptoms or on the contrary there can be no visible adhesions in patients with active PID.

Özet

Fitz Hugh Curtis (FHC) sendromu, pelvik enfeksiyonun asenden yolla karaciğer kapsülü ve diaframa ulaşarak sağ üst kadran ağrısına sebep olmasıyla kendini gösteren ve çoğu zaman akut pelvik inflamatuarlı (PID) hastalarda da görülebilen bir durumdur. Görülme insidansı tanıda kullanılan kriterlere göre değişkenlik göstermektedir. Laparoskopide perihepatik adhezyonların görülmesi tanıya yardımcı olmakla beraber semptomlarla ilişkisi net olarak gösterilememiştir.
