Abstract

Silage has now become the main component of the ruminant diet in many countries. Even though wellpreserved corn silage can deteriorate quickly and its hygiene quality can decrease easily when it is exposedto oxygen. It is well known that an aerobic degradation occur resulting large scale decreases in its feedingvalue, when the silo is opened for animal feeding or oxygen inputs in anyway. Researches about aerobicstability of silage in recent years have been especially focused on the microbial inoculants. Usage LAB whichcan reduce growth of other microbes deteriorating silage exposed on oxygen and which has high competitionability has been becoming a gradually important issue. In this study, potential of 10 LAB as microbialinoculants isolated from Turkey flora and selected as high lactic acid producer has been investigated
