Abstract
Pneumoparotitis is a rare cause of parotid gland swelling. A fifty-eight-year-old male patient was admitted with a swelling in left parotid glandular area, which was palpated as a soft cystic lesion having a smooth surface and unclear margins. Computed tomography showed an aerocystic lesion in the left parotid gland. Superficial parotidectomy was performed; however, a complete excision of the cystic lesion was not possible. The lesion recurred and enlarged to its previous size on the third postoperative day. The cystic lesion underwent spontaneous resorption and became considerably smaller in the sixth postoperative month.

Pnömoparotitis parotis bezindeki şişmelerin nadir sebeplerindendir. Elli sekiz yaşında erkek hastada bir yıldır var olan, giderek büyüyen, sol parotis lojunda sınırları belirsiz, yumuşak kıvamda, düzgün yüzeyli kistik lezyon palpe edildi. Bilgisayarlı tomografide sol parotis bezinde hava kisti görüldü. Yüzeyel parotidektomi yapılarak kist, cidarıyla birlikte çıkartılmaya çalışıldı. Ameliyat sonrası üçüncü günde hastada kistik yapı aynı boyutlarda nüks etti. Ameliyattan altı ay sonra yapılan kontrolde kistin kendiliğinden kısmen rezorbe olduğu ve oldukça küçüldüğü gözlendi.
