Abstract

Hydatid disease is an endemic disease in some geographical areas of the world. IgE (immunoglobulin E) mediated anaphylaxis due to the passage of highly antigenic hydatid cyst content into the bloodstream, is a rare but very serious perioperative complication. In this report, a patient who developed anaphylactic shock during the surgical treatment of the hydatid cyst is presented.
