Abstract

Introduction: Retroperitoneal vascular structure anomalies are not uncommon, with an incidence of 13 to 30 per 100 people. Renal vascular anomalies are responsible for more than half of the cases. Case: We report a circumaortic left renal vein during the staging surgery of a 39 years-old woman with ovarian tumor and a retroaortic left renal vein during the surgery of 43 years-old woman with ovarian tumor. There was no vascular injury associated with these anomalies. Conclusion: While dealing with retroperitoneum, it is important to be aware of possible anomalies of vascular and renal structures for the surgeons because these anomalies can easily mislead the surgeon and there can be serious injury associated with these vessels.
