Abstract

The use of oral chemotherapy drugs for cancer treatment has an increasing trend. The desired impact in oral chemotherapy treatment can be achieved with patient adherence. Personal factors, treatment-related factors and system factors affect patient adherence. Different approaches can be used to ensure patient adherence by taking these factors into consideration. In the first medical assessment, an approach consisting of patient education, access to health services, explaining the complex drug use plan, monitoring the patience adherence and safety is used. This approach provides training and consultancy services in line with the needs of the patient. Ensuring patient adherence will play a key role in the promotion of effective treatment and quality of care
