Aim: Hydatid cyst disease is a parasitosis, which is created by Tenia Echinococcus and rarely seen in the mediastinum. In this study, we presented a case with posterior mediastinal hydatid cyst. Case: A 22 years old male patient, who admitted with back pain had two cystic lesions (one in right middle lobe 2x2 cm and one in posterior mediastinum 5x5 cm) in his preoperative chest images. Right posterolateral thoracotomy was performed and two cysts were observed. 'Cystotomy + capitonage' was performed to the middle lobe cyst and cystotomy was performed to the posterior mediastinal cyst. Postoperative pathological result was reported as hydatid cyst. Result: Hydatid disease should be considered for the differential diagnosis of mediastinal cystic lesions, especially in areas with endemic hydatid cyst.
Özet
Amaç: Hidatik kist, Echinococcus granulosis tarafından oluşturulan ve mediastinumda oldukça nadir yerleşen paraziter bir enfeksiyondur. Bu çalışmada posterior mediastinumda kist hidatik saptanan bir olguyu sunmayı amaçladık. Olgu: Sırt ağrısı şikayeti ile başvuran 22 yaşındaki erkek hastanın preoperative radyolojik görüntülerinde sağ akciğer orta lobda (2x2cm), ve posterior mediastinumda (5x5cm) yerleşmiş iki adet kistik lezyon tespit edilmiştir. Hastaya sağ posterolateral torakotomi uygulanmıştır orta lobtakine olana kistotomi+kapitonaj, posterior mediastende yerleşmiş olana ise kistotomi yapıldı. Postoperatif patolojik inceleme sonucu kist hidatik olarak rapor edilmiştir. Sonuç: Mediastinal kistik lezyonların ayırıcı tanısında, özellikle endemik olduğu bölgelerde hidatik kist akılda bulundurulmalıdır.
