Abstract
A one and half-year-old male Siberian Husky was presented with signs of Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE) in this study. Diagnostik procedures included biochemical blood analysis and abdominal ultrasonography. Clinical and laboratory findings led to a diagnosis of hepatic encephalopathy possibly resulting from portosystemic venous shunting.. An exploratory laparotomy was performed and a portophrenic shunt was detected. The shunt was ligated totally. Six months after from surgery, the owners- reported that the dog had vomiting, anorexia and deppression. İt was shown no recurrence of clinical signs after application of medical therapy and diet.
Özet
Bu çalışmada materyali Hepatik Ensefalopati (HE) bulguları gösteren 1.5 yaşlı Siberian Husky ırkı erkek köpek oluşturdu. Diagnostik amaçla biyokimyasal kan analizleri ve abdominal ultrasonografı yapıldı. Klinik ve laboratuvar bulguları, şant nedenli HE tanısını destekler nitelikteydi. Yapılan deneysel laparatomide tekli ekstrahepatik portofrenik şant belirlendi ve total olarak ligature edildi. Postoperatif 6. Ayda hayvanda kusma, iştahsızlık ve depresyon gözlendiği hayvan sahipleri tarafından bildirildi. Yapılan medikal sağaltım ve diyet uygulamasından sonra herhangi bir bozukluk izlenmedi.
