Abstract

Hantavirus causes two different types of infection: hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. The differential diagnosis is important because it can be confused with other infectious or noninfectious diseases. In our case, we aimed to draw attention to the possibility that hantavirus infection may be present in patients presenting with fever, acute renal failure, thrombocytopenia and multiorgan failure, especially in endemic regions.

Özet

Hantavirüsler insanda renal sendromla seyreden hemorajik ateş ve hantavirüs pulmoner sendromu diye iki farklı enfeksiyon tablosu oluşturmaktadır. Ayırıcı tanısı diğer enfeksiyöz ya da nonenfeksiyöz hastalıklarla da karışabilmesi nedeni ile önemlidir. Biz de olgumuzda ateş, akut böbrek yetmezliği, trombositopeni, çoklu organ yetmezliği ile başvuran olgularda, özellikle de endemik bölgelerde yaşayanlarda hantavirüs enfeksiyonu olabileceğine dikkat çekmek istedik.
