Abstract
Increased exhaked nitric oxide (eNO) reflect respiratory tract inflammation in untreated asthmatics. Some studies have reported increased eNO among subjects with active fibrosing alveolitis, active pulmonary sarcoidosis, cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis, The aim of study was to measure eNO in patients with newly diagnosed biopsy proven pulmonary sarcoidosis, and to correlate these levels with total cell count, macrophages ratio, lymphocytes CD4/CD8 ratio, leukocyte ratio in the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid. Exhale NO was measured by a chemiluminescence analayser in 9 patients and BAL samples were subjected to flow cytometry to establish lymphocytes subgroups. There was no statistically significant correlation between the eNO and the BAL total cell counts, macrophages ratio, lymphocytes ratio, lymphocytes CD4/CD8 ratio, leukocyte ratio. These data suggest that eNO does not correlate with BAL cells population.

Ekshale nitrik oksit (eNO) artışı tedavi edilmemiş astımlılarda solunum yolu inflamasyonunu yansıtır. Bazı çalışmalarda fibrozan alveolit, aktif pulmoner sarkoidoz, kistik fibrozis ve bronşektazide eNO'nun arttığı bildirilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı , biyopsi ile yeni tanı konulmuş sarkoidozlu olgularda eNO değerini ölçmek ve bronkoalveolar lavaj sıvısındaki (BAL) total hücre sayısı, makrofaj oranı , lenfosit oranı, CD4/CD8 oranı ve lökosit oranı ile ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Ekshale NO "Chemiluminescence Analayser" ile 9 hastada ölçüldü ve BAL örneklerinde flow-sitometrik inceleme ile hücre ve lenfosit subgrupları çalışıldı. Ekshale NO ile BAL'daki toplam hücre sayısı, makrofaj oranı, lenfosit oranı, CD4/CD8 oranı ve lökosit oranı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı korelasyon saptanmadı.
