Abstract

Descending necrotising rnediastinitis is a rare but usually fatal infection. It mainly results from oropharyngeal and odontogenic infections. Although the mortality rate is about 40-50%, complete recovery may achieved by appropriate and prompt medical and surgical approach following early diagnosis. Our case is a 36 year-old male patient. He has developed rnediastinitis from a peritonsillary abscess that rapidly spread mediastinum. Complete health produced by prompt diagnosis, and appropriate medical and surgical approach that done at right time. There are many different options and alternatives about treatment.
