Abstract

Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) is a systemic vasculitis characterized by granulomas involving mainly paranasal sinuses, upper airways, lungs and kidneys. Solid nodule(s) or mass(es) or caviti(es) might be seen radiologically. Several disases such as lung abscess, lung cancer and pulmonary tuberculosis may be observed in the differential diagnosis of WG. Very rarely, opening of the cavity(ies) or necrotic material into the pleural space may lead to pneumothorax or hydropneumothorax. Since there have been few WG cases with hydropneumothorax in the literature, we have found it appropriate to present a case of WG with hydropneumothorax healed without any surgical intervention.
