Abstract

Lung cancer as a leading cause of cancer related death on the world saves its great importance. Most of the lung cancers are usually non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and nearly almost all of them are presented in unresectable stage. In our study, we assessed the factors which affect the survival in advanced NSCLC. We studied 258 cases (251 male, 7 female) who were treated in our clinic between 1997-2000 years. The mean age was 56.610.7 ranging between 27-84, and median survival was 7.96.6 month. In our statistical analysis, we found that performance status of the patients, chemotherapy response, radiotherapy and second line chemotherapy affected the survival significantly.
