Abstract
Despite the similarity of tracheal tumors and lung tumors, tracheal tumors are seen very rarely. Malignant tumors of the trachea are more common than benign tumors. Fifty five years old woman patient was treated for asthma for ten years. Computed tomography of thorax demostrated a 2.5 cm mass lesion which was located on lower one third of trachea. Bronchoscopic biopsy specimen was reported as leiomyoma. Tracheotomy with tumor excsion and tracheoplasty operation was performed. The patient has been followed up for 51 months and she is still healty.

Histopatolojik olarak benzerlik göstermelerine rağmen trakeal tümörlere akciğer kanserlerinden 100 kat daha az rastlanılır. Trakeanın benign tümörleri malign tümörlerinden daha seyrektir. Astım bronşiyale nedeniyle tedavi alan 55 yaşında kadın hastanın bilgisayarlı toraks tomografisinde trakeanın 1/3 alt kesiminde 2,5 cm çapında kitle tespit edildi. Bronkoskopik biyopsi ile histopatolojik olarak leiomiyom tanısı alan hastaya, trakeotomi ile tümör eksizyonu ve trakeoplasti operasyonu uygulandı. Şu sırada hasta takibinin 51. ayında ve sağlıklıdır.
