Abstract

Factors producing the wage differences were analyzed by Becker (1964; 1965), Chiswick (1971) and Mincer (1974) mentioned with human capital in economic theory. In this theory, human capital is the main determinant of economical growth and wage differences per capita. In the essence of the theory, there is the educational level of individuals. Rise in the educational level increases labour productivity and economical growth. The aim of this study is to measure the impact of level of education on the wages who are employed in Turkish labour market. Raw data pulled from Household Labour Force Survey Micro Data Set 2014 of Turkish Statistical Institute was used for analysis. Method used in the study is Least Squares Method and Quantile Regression. Since extreme outliers cause heteroscedasticity, the method used for differences between low and high quantiles of hourly wage can be considered as a discrepancy.
