Abstract
The $L_{50}$ parameter, is one of the major parameter which uses in determination of the codend selectivity parameters in towed fishing gear. Theorically, 50% of the individuals, which have lengths are represented by Lso parameter, achieved to escape; the other 50% are accepted to be catched. Generally most of the researchers have an opinion that if the $L_{50}$ value for a fish species is equal or above of the legal size, the objective codend has efficient selectivity characteristics. In our country, the sport and commercial fishing in seas and inland waters is legalized with the legal principles by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and planned by the periods have involved the two fishing period then published as a circular. $L_{50}$ parametresi, sürükleme yoluyla avcılık yapan takımların torba seçicilik performans kriterlerinin belirlenmesinde kullanılan en belli başlı parametrelerden biridir. Teorik olarak Lso parametresi ile temsil edilen boya sahip bireylerin %50'sinin kaçmayı başardığı, geri kalan %50'sinin ise yakalandığı kabul edilir. Bir çok araştırıcı; bir balık türü için elde edilen L5o değeri, yasal boya eşit ya da üzerinde ise, ele alınan torbanın yeterli seçicilik özelliklerine sahip olduğunu kabullenir. Ülkemizde, denizlerde ve içsularda amatör ve ticari olarak yapılan su ürünleri avcılığı, T.C. Tarım ve Köyisleri Bakanlığı tarafından oluşturulan yasal esaslarla düzenlenir ve iki av sezonunu kapsayan periyodlar halinde planlanıp sirküler olarak yayınlanır. Bu çalışmada, sirkülerde bulunan yasal düzenlemelerden biri olan; "toplam av içinde sayıca en fazla %5 oranında küçük boylu bireylere müsaade edilir" maddesi ile $L_{50}$ parametresi arasındaki ilişki araştırılmış ve toplam av içinde yakalanan yasal boyun altındaki bireylerin oranının hesaplanmasında kullanılabilecek bir eşitlik önerilmiştir.
