Abstract

Development of recombinant DNA technology and new techniques have faciliated for isolation and characterization of DNA fragments of microorganisms. The availability of genetic analysis has helped for construction of physical and genetic map of a variety of bacteria. Also, these techniques have enabled genome analysis of many bacteria for which no genetic information was previously available. Construction of detailed physical and genetic maps have provided new data on functional arrangements of genes hi the bacterial genome. Construction of these maps, especially, is important for many aspects of microbiology as well as for the genetic manipulation of bacteria in human diseases, agriculture, and biotechnology.

Özet

Rekombinant DNA teknolojisinin gelişimi ve yeni tekniklerin ortaya çıkarılması, mikroorganizmaların DNA fragmentierinin izolasyonunu ve karakterizasyonunu kolaylaştırmıştır. Birçok bakterinin fiziki ve genetik haritalarının oluştunümasında genetik analizler yardıma olmuştur. Aynı zamanda yeni teknikler, daha önceleri genetik bilgileri hakkında bilgi edinilemeyen birçok bakterinin genom analizlerinin yapılabilmesini sağlamıştır. Detaylı bir fiziki ve genetik haritaların yapılması, bakteri genomlanndaki genlerin fonksiyonel yerleşimleri hakkında yeni bilgiler sağlamıştır. Bu haritaların oluşturulması özellikle insan hastalıklarında, ziraatte ve biyoteknolojik alanlarda genetik manipülasyonlar kadar birçok mikrobiyolojik olayların temelini oluşturmasından dolayı önem taşımaktadır.
