Abstract

Eosinophilic granuloma is characterized by single or multiple lesions oc¬curring predominantly in children, adolescents or young adults. The etiology of eosinophilic granuloma is unknown and pathologically there is non-neoplastic proliferation of histiocystes. Clinical manifestations include local pain, tenderness and palpable soft tissue mass. The radiographic cha¬racteristics of eosinophilic granuloma is often nonspecific and quite variable, depending on the site. In the long bones, radiographic findings of the lesion may be indistinguishable from other bony lesions such as E-wing's sarcoma, metastatic tumor, osteomyelitis or fibrous dysplasia. We report two cases of eosinophilic granuloma localized in the humerus and the clavicle, respectively. In view of clinical and radiologic findings they were i-nitially thought to be primary malignant bone tumors such as Ewing's sarcoma.
