Abstract

A six year-old boy presented with bilateral persistent hyperplastic papillary membrane. Central opening of the pupillary membranes in both eyes was wide enough for the patient to see and stereoscopic examination with polarized glasses showed binocular vision. Considering inherent risks of surgery and Nd: YAG laser treatment, the patient was recommended one-hour daily closure of the right eye. After a follow-up period of three months, his visual acuity increased from 0.5 to 0.6.
