Abstract

Elderly population is an important risky group because of home accidents. Falls are the main cause among home accidents that the elderly expose. Falls are an important public health problem since falls are the most frequently seen, and are killing and handicapping the elderly. It is also possible to decrease the falls and harms related home accidents. For these reasons, it is important to knowthe risk factors causing the falls. Individual and/or environmental risk factors cause the falls among the elderly. In this article nursing implications on reducing and determining the risk factors causing the falls are discussed.
