Abstract

Escalators and walking road are a relatively safe way to transport people. Because of irresponsible behavior and faulty practices, injuries may occur. In the United States (USA), escalator-related injuries cause about 10,000 emergency service applications per year. A steady increase has been reported in the United States since the 1990s, but a small number of statistics on escalator accidents around the world have been published. There are not enough records on escalator accidents in Turkey. In order to emphasize the importance of the matter, this article will outline the steps to be taken to prevent escalators and walking road accidents.
