Abstract

Objective:Examining the effect of job satisfaction on life satisfaction in nurses and caregivers in a university hospital. Method:This cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2015-May 2016 with 216 participants in Adnan Menderes University Practice and Research Hospital. The data were collected by questionnaires which includes socio- demographic characteristics, Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS), Life Satisfaction Survey (LSS), both valid in Turkish. Descriptive statistics, Student t, one-way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis, Spearman correlation analyzes were used. The type-1 (α) error is assumed to be 0.05. Results:56% of the participants were nurses. Participants' median JSS was 125 (min:78-max:183), median LSS was 17 (min:5- max:35). There was a weak positive correlation between the JSS and LSS scores (rho:0.201,p:0.003) and between the LSS and the subscales of JSS pay (rho:0.166,p:0.015), side rights (rho:0.142,p:0.036), and conditional prizes (rho:0.159,p:0.019). Conclusion:Job satisfaction affects life satisfaction. It's considered that life satisfaction will increase with the provision of side benefits to employees, increase of payments and rewarding.

Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışan hasta bakıcı ve hizmetlilerde iş doyumunun yaşam doyumuna etkisinin incelenmesidir. Yöntem: Kesitsel tipteki bu çalışma Aralık 2015 – Mayıs 2016 tarihlerinde Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanesi'nde yapılmış olup toplam 216 kişiye ulaşılmıştır. Veriler, sosyodemografik özellikler ve Türkçe geçerliliği güvenilirliği alınmış olan İş Doyum Ölçeği (İDÖ) ve Yaşam Doyum Ölçeği'ni (YDÖ) içeren anketler ile toplanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Student t, tek yönlü ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis testi ve Spearman korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Tip-I (α) hata, 0,05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bulgular: Katılımcıların %56'sı hasta bakıcıdır. Katılımcıların İDÖ ortanca skoru:125 (min:78-maks:183), YDÖ ortanca skoru 17'dir (min:5-maks:35). İDÖ ve YDÖ skorları arasında (rho:0,201, p:0,003) ve YDÖ skoru ile İDÖ alt boyutlarından ödeme (rho:0,166, p:0,015), yan haklar (rho:0,142, p:0,036), koşullu ödüller (rho:0,159, p:0,019) ile arasında pozitif yönde zayıf korelasyon bulunmuştur. Sonuç: İş doyumu yaşam doyumunu etkilemektedir. Çalışanlara yan haklar tanınması, ödemelerin artırılması ve ödüllendirmelerin yapılması ile yaşam doyumunun artacağı düşünülmektedir.
