Abstract
PURPOSE: To evaluate intraocular pressure changes after the administration of cyclopentolate 1% in healthy myopic subjects. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study was consisted of 36 eyes of 18 subjects. The intraocular pressure was measured before the administration and at 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes and 5 and 24 hours after the administration. The results were statistically evaluated by means of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The rises at 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes and 5 hours were significant (P<0.0001) while the rise in the intraocular pressure at 24 hours was not significant (P>0.05). The maximum rise in intraocular pressure was observed at 45 minutes.
