Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the structure of the anterior segment in patients with congenital glaucoma by means of ultrasound biomicroscopy. Material and Methods: In a prospective study, ultrasound biomicroscopy was performed on 44 eyes of 25 consecutive patients. The anterior chamber angle, iris, lens, ciliary body posterior chamber and, trabeculectomy site were evaluated. Results: Ciliary processes were elongated in all eyes. The other prominent findings consisted of ciliary body atrophy, shallow posterior chamber, iris atrophy. Conclusion: Ultrasound biomicroscopy is a useful method for evaluating the anterior segment of eyes with congenital glaucoma. It can demonstrate spesific morphologic patterns of congenital glaucoma and show the detail of anterior segment in cases with corneal opacities.

Amaç: Konjenital glokomlu hastalarda ön segment yapılarım ultrason biyomikroskop ile değerlendirmek. Gereç ve Yöntem: Prospektif yapılan çalışmada 25 hastanın 44 gözüne ultrason biyomikroskopi yapıldı. Ön kamara açısı, iris, lens, silier cisim, arka kamara ve trabekülektomi yerleri incelendi. Bulgular: Tüm gözlerde silier prosesler uzamıştı. Belirgin olan diğer bulgular silier cisim atrofisi, sığ arka kamara, iris atroflsiydi. Sonuç: Ultrason biyomikroskopi konjenital glokomda ön segmenti değerlendirmede faydalı bir metod olup, özel morfolojik durumları ortaya koyabilir. Kornea opasiteli olgularda ön segment detaylarını gösterir.
