Abstract

A 4.5-year old girl, who was diagnosed with ligneous conjunctivitis at 2-year-age developed a white cataract. Cataract development was thought to occur by the corticosteroid use. Dense pupillary membrane was observed after uncomplicated phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation surgery. The development of dense pupillary membrane was thought to occur due to insufficient cleaning of fibrin, which get into anterior chamber through impaired blood-aqueous barrier, due to low plasminogen levels.

Özet

İki yaşında lignöz konjunktivit tanısı alan kız olguda, 4.5 yaşında beyaz katarakt gelişti. Katarak gelişiminin kortikosteroid kullanımına bağlı olabileceği düşünüldü. Komplikasyonsuz fakoemülsifikasyon ve intraoküler lens implantasyonu sonrası yoğun pupiller membran izlendi. Katarakt cerrahisi sonrası bozulan kan aköz bariyerinden ön kamaraya geçen fibrinin, plazminojen eksikiği nedeniyle yeterince temizlenememesinden dolayı, yoğun pupiller membran geliştiği düşünüldü.
