Abstract

Thirty four years old female patient was presented with hyperemia in her right eye since 4 months. In her ophthalmologic examination there was hyperemic, granular lesion in the nasal, bulbar conjunctiva. The other ocular findings were normal. She had a history of foreign body excision from the same eye at another clinic 8 years before. Ultrasonographic biomicroscopy revealed a hyperechogenic material inside the lesion which was compatible with foreign body. The eye was operated and the foreign body was removed. In conclusion, patients with foreign body in the eye can be presented with quite different clinical situations at different times. Ultrasonographic biomicroscopy is a useful method in the differential diagnosis of anterior segment lesions.
