Abstract

Lice are blood-fed parasites and have three types which cause disease in human: Pediculus capitis, Pediculus corporis and Phthirus pubis. Pityriasis palpebrarum is the clinical picture of adult and nits of pityriasis pubis in the eyelids and eyelashes. Pityriasis palpebrarum usually occurs after puberty and contamination often occurs after sexual contact. Pityriasis palpebrarum may also transmitted by common used clothes, infected hair and close contact with poor personal hygiene, Pityriasis palpebrarum is a very rare cause of blepharoconjunctivitis and its diagnosis can easily be overlooked if not considered. In this paper, we aimed to present a case of Pityriasis palpebrarum in a 7-month-old girl who was admitted to our outpatient clinic with redness and itching in her eyes, and treated with pure vaseline.
