Abstract

Choanal atresia is a rare cause of developmental obstruction of the posterior nasal opening. The clinical presentation varies from immediate postnatal cyanosis and respiratory distress to nasal obstruction. Unilateral choanal atresia seen after adulthood may be nonspesific five cases (16-32 years old, 1 male and 4 female) of unilateral choanal atresia were treated by transnasal endoscopic surgery and followed-up at our ENT Department presented and endoscopic transnasal surgery and therapeutic results discussed comparing with relevant literatures.

Özet

Koanal atrezi sık görülmeyen, posterior nazal açıklığın gelişim anomalisidir. Klinik bulguları ani postnatal siyanoz ve solunum sıkıntısından inatçı nazal akıntıya eşlik eden burun tıkanıklığına kadar değişkenlik gösterebilir. Özellikle ileri yaşlarda izlenen tek taraflı koanal atrezilerde semptomlar silik olabilir. Endoskopik transnazal yolla kliniğimizde tedavi edilerek takip edilen, yaşları 16-32 arasında 1’i erkek 4’ü kadın, unilateral koanal atrezili 5 olgu sunuldu. Transnazal endoskopik tedavi ve sonuçları literatürle karşılaştırılarak tartışıldı.
