Abstract

Bite injuries are a common occurrence in our daily practice. In the literature, it has been reported that animal bite cases; 60-90% are dogs, 5-20% are cats and 2-3% are rodents such as mice, and the rest are made up by other animals. Staphylococcus spp.,Corynebacterium spp., Pasteurella multocida, Leptospira and Fusabacterium spp. can be transmitted to human by mouse and rat bite. Our case is presented because there is one similar case in review of the available literature and there is no similar case reported from our country. The case presented in this article is a 32-years-old man without any chronic disease. Our patient was a patient who developed cellulitis and septic arthritis in his Wright hand metacarpophalangeal joint due to Corynebacterium spp. after mice bite. He was treated with intravenously clindamycin 2 weeks and oral trimethoprim/sulphamethoxazole 2 weeks improved and healed without any sequelae.
