Abstract

Cholelithiasis is uncommon in childhood and the pre¬valence is reported as 0.13 %. The incidence of cho¬lelithiasis increases in children who have a predisposing factor such as hemolysis, administration of TPN, con¬genital abnormality of biliary tree, disease of ileum. Re¬cently, sonographic abnormality and precipitations si¬milarity to gallstone seen in gallbladder with use of ceftriaxone and disappear following discontinuation of ceftriaxone have been described such as "biliary pse¬udolithiasis" or "reversible cholelithiasis". In this paper, we present a case with biliary pseudolithiasis occurred after 3 days of ceftriaxone therapy and had completely re¬solved 2 months after the end oftreament.
