Abstract

A total of 47 corns samples weae collected from cities (Adana and Adapazarı) and analysed for the presence of fungal and mycotoxin contamination. Fungal cultures were counted and the results have shown that the count ranged from 7,000 to 1,600,000/g. Mois- ture content were found 10.45-19.30 %. Aflatoxin 1 in three samples (12, 18 and 20 ppb) and aflatoxin G| in two samples (10 and 12 ppb)were detected. In total samples tested, 36.2% ochratoxin A (120-3,840 ppb), 46.8% patulin (480-52,000 ppb), 31.9% penicillic acid (12,000-112,200 ppb), 14.9% rubratoxin (150-800 ppb) and 12.8 % zearalenone (180-2,200 ppb) were deter¬mined. In conclusion, this study indicates that some of the micotoxins in the corn feed may harm the animal health and there fore fungal and micotoxin contamination of the animal feed must be considered before using.

Örneklerin % 36.2'si okratoksin A(120-3,840 ppb), % 46.8'i patulin (480-52,000 ppb), % 31.9'u penisilik asit (12,000-112,200 ppb), % 14.9'u rubratokin (150-800 ppb), % 12.8'i zearalenon (180-2,200 ppb) mikotoksinlerini kapsamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, araştırmada incelenen mısır örneklerinde saptanan bazı m ikotoksinlerin miktarlarının hayvan sağlığını olumsuz etkileyebilecek düzeyde olması nedeniyle, bunların hayvan yemi olarak kullanılmasında dikkatli olunmalıdır.
