Abstract
Pinus brutia forests of Turkey located in Muğla - Yatağan region are strongly effected from the pollution caused by the smoke coming out of Yatağan thermopowerhouse chimney. Since the effect of this pollution on the technological properties of wood can only be seen on the trees wholly grown under the pollution conditions, this effection can not be evaluated henceforth. But, for comparison of the research results which will be carried out on fully effected woods in the future, it is an advantage to know the physical and mechanical properties of wood at the beginning phase of the pollution. In this research study, the physical and mechanical tests were carried out on the wood specimens of 9 trees selected from Yatağan region and the data were evaluated statistically. .
Özet
Türkiye'nin Muğla-Yatağan yöresindeki kızılcam ormanları, Yatağan-termik santralı baca gazlarının oluşturduğu kirlenmeden etkilenerek kurumaktadır. Bu kirliliğin odunun teknolojik özellikleri üzerine etkisi, ancak tamamen kirlenme altında büyümüş odunlarda görülebileceğinden, bu günden böyle bir etkiyi belirlemek mümkün değildir. Ancak, ileride bu tür bir materyalle yapılacak çalışmaların sonuçlarını mukayese edebilmek amacıyla, etkilenmenin henüz başlangıç safhasında kızılcam odunlarının fiziksel ve mekaniksel özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde yarar görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada Yatağan yöresinden alınmış 9 adet örnek ağaçtan elde edilen odun numuneleri üzerinde, fiziksel ve mekaniksel deneyler yapılmış ve elde edilen veriler matematik - istatistik esaslara göre değerlendirilmiştir.
